Well, if its any consolation, I've stopped using GNS3 due to the overhead. Acronyms - 1

I forgot to check the "notify me" boxes last time.

Technical accuracy? A description of the path to Cisco certification as including "an assload of acronyms" seems to me like a good example of technical accuracy.

I've downloaded GNS3 (and obtained a bunch of IOS images, somehow) but I haven't installed it yet, because I noticed that just the title alone has added to my acronym load, instead of reduced it.

Just in case you haven't noticed, most, if not all, of the books published by computer professionals, are replete with modifiers that are so misplaced, it is impossible to determine what they are supposed to modify - unless of course you already know. But the reason most people want to read these books, is because the DON'T already know.

While I don't expect correctitude grammourly, or propper speling, I do expect to be able to tell what word you are triying to spel, and what noun a adjective refers to, or your writing cannot help me lerne.

I've been doing exactly that. I'm trying to get a lab environment setup to test and I'm most of the way through Beau Williamson's Cisco Press book on Multicast - it seems fairly comprehensive. Now I need my fingers to remember it! If I find anything neat, I'll post here.

Good luck! ONT was pretty nitty gritty, but manageable. Let me know how it goes.

I got a 737, but I'm still bummed that I missed it. I'm also planning on doing some multicast prep (I need to get deeper into some routing protocols and get more practice with switching technologies, also some misc. technologies like WCCP).

Great to hear that the little one is starting to sleep through the night!

Good luck on the study prep!

Another neat thing about nonnegotiate and DTP (or DISL) is a case covered in Kennedy Clark's Cisco LAN Switching (page 544). If I have two VTP domains and I want to get a trunk going between the two, they won't come up! Reason: different VTP domain name in the DTP/DISL request. How does one make this situation work? "on" or "nonnegotiate".

Kind of neat, figured I'd share.

I just did/am doing the life with a newborn thing! He is 6 weeks old. Time studying per day (once you go back to work): 20-40 minutes (but I like to go in early).

I hope all goes well with your (expected) new arrival! Make sure you take lots of pictures and get ready to leave sleep behind! :) :) :)
